Laying the Foundation—More Than Just a House

The morning begins with all of us—volunteers, staff, and local pastors—gathering together in prayer. Before any work starts, we take a moment to center ourselves, to remember why we’re here.

For many of the volunteers, this is their first time meeting the family who will soon have a place to call home. There are smiles, warm handshakes, and even a few tears. It’s more than just a build—it’s the start of a relationship.

The lot is ready. The foundation has already been framed in, and thanks to our incredible donors, pallets of concrete and a mixer are waiting to bring it all together. It’s time to get to work.

The mixer hums to life, concrete is poured, and soon, the foundation begins to take shape. But if you pause for a moment and look around, you’ll see that this isn’t just about construction. It’s about people. The joy, the laughter, the teamwork—this is what One Life is all about.

Yes, a house will be built, providing shelter and safety. But more than that, this family is being welcomed into a community that will continue to support them long after the last nail is driven.

As the morning goes on, our team—volunteers, staff, and local pastors—work tirelessly to smooth and level the foundation. By midday, we stand back and admire a freshly poured concrete pad, ready for the next phase.

Stay tuned—progress photos are coming soon!
